Hey guys, welcome to my blog where I will be documenting my progress learning to code. This project started on December 3rd on a determination to equip myself with the tools I need to change the world. People ask me all the time how my Philosophy major will help me towards finding a job. But finding a job isn't the point. The point is to do meaningful work you're proud of.
If you spend you're life working towards pleasing other people, you will find yourself relying on external sources for happiness. In essence, you are putting your well being in the hands of people and circumstances that are out of your control. It's dangerous to put your life in the hands of factors that you simply have no control over.
It's a myth that taking risks is risky. The truth is, it's risky to play it safe. In the last few years, thousands of people around the country have been getting laid off from their jobs. People who have spent their life following the rules, doing what they were told by their bosses, and even going above-and-beyond expectations. It's not their fault that the company needed to downsize. And yet those people were left wondering what they did wrong, what life might have been like if they took that risky opportunity way back when.
This blog is a plea to you, to open your eyes and see that risks aren't as risky as you think, and start equipping yourself with the tools you need to do meaningful work you're proud of.
Quick Note:
I have another blog where I zoom out of coding and into entrepreneurship and other fascinating life ideas more broadly. This is where I do the majority of my writing and I invite everyone to check that out too. Especially since there is a higher chance that that site will be up-to-date.
My Main Website
Thank you.
